Concrete patios · GTA
A concrete patio should sit flat, drain away from the house and shrug off twenty winters. We pour and replace patios across the GTA with proper base prep and clean finishing.
A concrete patio is one of the simplest ways to get more out of a backyard. It gives you a flat, solid spot for the barbecue, the table and the kids, without the yearly staining and board swaps a wood deck asks for. Done right, a poured patio outlasts almost everything else in the yard. Done wrong, it heaves, cracks and pools water against the house within a few winters.
We pour and replace concrete patios across the Greater Toronto Area, from small city lots to wide suburban backyards. The difference between a patio that lasts and one that fails is rarely the concrete itself. It is what happens underneath: how the old material comes out, how the base is built and compacted, and how the slab is sloped so water runs away from your foundation instead of toward it. That base work is where we spend most of our time on every job.
Every quote we send spells out the full scope in plain language, so you know exactly what you're paying for. A typical patio job covers:
Southern Ontario is hard on outdoor concrete. Water gets into the ground, freezes, expands and pushes on anything sitting above it, and that cycle repeats dozens of times every winter. A patio built without it in mind will tilt and crack early. So we build for it. The gravel base drains water away instead of trapping it under the slab. The mix we pour is air-entrained, which gives freezing water microscopic room to expand without breaking the concrete. And we cut control joints at sensible spacing, so the small shrinkage cracks every slab develops run along straight, tidy lines instead of wandering across the surface.
Finish matters too. Most patios get a broom finish, a light texture that adds grip when the surface is wet. Once the pour is down, curing does the rest. Concrete reaches most of its strength in the first week and keeps hardening after that. We'll tell you exactly when you can walk on it and when the furniture can go back out.
A patio rarely stands alone. Many of our patio jobs run alongside concrete steps down from a back door, a rebuilt concrete porch out front, or a new concrete driveway. Pouring them together usually means one crew visit and one cleanup instead of three. And if your home is in the city itself, our concrete patios in Toronto page covers the tight lots, shared laneways and rear-yard access questions that come with older city properties.
We treat your home like our own, and we quote the way we'd want to be quoted: one clear number, no pressure, no surprises.
